How to enable TLS 1.2 in Outlook on Windows 7

We have enabled our cPanel email servers to only accept connections coming from devices and email programs that can support TLS 1.2. Any version before that such as TLS 1.0 and 1.1 have been disabled and you will not be able to make a successful connection to the email server.

If you are still using Windows 7 - It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Windows 10 but if you are unable to do that at this time then you can follow this guide to enable TLS 1.2 on your Windows 7 devices.

You will need to do the following:

(You will need to check if you need to download the 32bit or 64 bit update. You can find out by right clicking "My  Computer" and going to "Properties" and look for System Type.)

You can locate the file for download in the "EasyFix" section on the above link and there is a download button.  If the easy fix option is not suitable for you and you prefer to edit the registry of your computer manually, the article also provides that information in section "How the DefaultSecureProtocols registry entry works".

You must restart your computer once you have installed these updates. Then you should be able to connect to the email server again - If you are unable to do that please make sure you are using the correct SSL server settings.  Which you can find by going to: https://clients.iracknet.com/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/3/cPanel-Email-Settings.html
