Old MacOS and Window Versions - Email Issues

To maintain the security of our servers we have had to disable TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on our cPanel platform. TLS is a method of connecting to the email server securely. The TLS 1.0/1.1 versions are out of date and have quite a few security vulnerabilities that leaving them enabled is not an option.  This means we only accept email connections from TLS 1.2 or above - It does mean that if you are still running outdated and out of support Windows versions/MacOS or email programs then you may have trouble connecting to the email server.

iOS (iPhone / iPads)

You need to be running iOS 9 or above to have TLS 1.2 support.

MacOS Users / Apple Mail Users / Outlook for Mac 2011

Any version of MacOS before macOS 10.12 (Sierra) does not support TLS 1.2. You need to update if possible to macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or later.

Outlook for Mac 2011 does not support TLS 1.2 - You need to use a newer version of Microsoft Outlook for the Mac and also make sure you are running macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or later.

Windows XP Users (Including Outlook Express)

Windows XP and Outlook Express users do not support TLS 1.2 They are out of support. You need to use a newer operating system such as Windows 10. You can access the webmail by going to: http://cpanel.iracknet.com/webmail

We do not support Windows XP.

Windows 7 Users

There are a few steps that you can follow that will install a TLS 1.2 update to Windows 7 and should also work in Microsoft Outlook 2010. (This may not work in Microsoft Outlook 2007)

Windows 7 is officially an “end of life” product and it is recommended that you update to Windows 10.

Your operating system and email program need to support TLS 1.2 to be able to connect to the email server. This guide will explain how you can do that on Windows 7. This may not fix your issue as some email programs have not been updated to be able to connect to email servers with TLS 1.2 or above. This will not work for Outlook Express and may also not work for Microsoft Outlook 2007. There has been results in this working in Microsoft Outlook 2010.

Go to: https://clients.iracknet.com/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/73/How-to-enable-TLS-1.2-in-Outlook-on-Windows-7.html to find how to enable TLS 1.2 in Windows 7.
